We have a jam packed couple of weeks coming up...so hold on to your handknit hats!
First and foremost, Hayley & Nicole are going to see The Sheep Detective, a new movie quite literally about sheep solving a murder (lol, amazing). Come sit with us Wednesday 27th at 6:50 at Cineplex Odeon Westshore Cinema. We pre-ordered our tickets are are seated right in the middle in Row E. This is nothing formal with the cinema, but we couldn't resist a sheep movie with friends, so grab a ticket and come join us! We'll be in the lobby around 6:40!
We've planned so many good things in this space for the upcoming months. Our crowd-fav Yarn Swap is back on May 24 from 11 to 3 so bring in the old and get something new. Leftover yarn goes to classroosm to fuel creativity around the city!And after that wraps up, we'll have a peaceful Couplets & Crafts later that afternoon from 3 to 4:30 -- bring a poem you'd love to share from a treasured author, one you wrote yourself, or just come and listen! And we're hosting another Scholastic KnitFaire June 7 from 11-3. Think nostalgic bookfair energy with lots of focus on pattern and yarn pairing as well as a book SWAP!
GingerSnapThat is coming all the way from Alberta on Friday, June 26 all day to bless us with their wild and wonderful colourways. Kim & Collin have become dear friends over the years to many of us in this community, and they are talented dyers and sewists with an eye for colour. You won't want to miss their visit, that's for sure!
And all-day Sunday June 28, our regular Spinny (that's our social for spinning yarn!) has as special pop-up guest, Simply Fibre! Nic is a talented local fibre processor, dyer and jack-of-all-fibre-crafts. We'll be running all day spinning demos with the goal of starting your spinning journey off with a bang. Shop the fresh beautiful batts, yarns and delights from Simply Fibre and grab a spindle! This is your sign to take up spinning.
And Entwined Market is coming July 18, in our old home at The Langford Station. We'll be inviting 40+ textile artists from across BC and western Canada to share their finest wares. Indie dyed yarn, fibre, hand crafted goods and more. Put this on your calendar: you won't want to miss it.
